New lower price as of 8/10/24. 303 calber. A neat Enfield made by American contract (several Savage “S” stampings throughout) and then imported to England and so it is not as common as the English Enfields. Has the usual military handling marks, but there is an acre of wood on this thing so there is still plenty to look good. In all that wood the only place I found a crack is a small surface loop one at some chippage that is at the top of the buttplate. It’s a closed shallow loop though, around the size of a tack head, it doesn’t extend out into the stock. Another small chip of wood came out at the top left corner tang area. I know the stock has never been sanded, it has crisp stamp markings on it. The metal still has a little bluing left, not much but some. Some areas have a little more than others. A very slight haze of surface pitting on the barrel shank. The magazine was painted. Can’t find matching numbers but everything fits perfect and functions perfect. The right side protective wing for the front sight is bent in a little bit. Might be easier to put a replacement on than to try to bend it back to perfect. The bore starts out shiny smooth but towards the muzzle gets slightly grainy and frosty. The rifle grooving is crisp throughout. All in all, a respectable historical example. I can provide several high-res photos to any SERIOUS buyer. I am not a dealer. I am a private individual selling this firearm from my personal collection that I built over 50 years. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CART until you have contacted me and we have worked out all the details involved in the selling/purchasing/shipping/transfer of this firearm. If you are serious on it, I will mark it as sale pending until we get the details worked out. Terms are as per this Description section and our correspondence. Cash only for Local sale. For local sale I will only sell to anyone who is verified to purchase a firearm so I would need to see either a FFL, or Firearm Purchase Certificate, and ID, just like it's done at the auctions/shows. Please contact your FFL provider to ensure they are accepting firearms for transfer from private individuals that don't have an FFL. I will also need contact info for your receiving FFL so that I can arrange shipping with them. If shipping, payment is by Bank Cashier's Check ONLY. Shipping is to only the lower 48 and is a flat fee of 70 dollars.
