When John Olin wanted to have the title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon, and its reputation is well deserved. A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN. Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micromanagement of John Olin himself. With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm. This Model 21, SN243 built about 1931 (no records found on this gun at Cody Firearms Museum), is in 99.9% condition as restored by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company. It is an unusual Model 21 as it has two triggers, ejectors, double ivory beads, 3” Magnum chambers, and gorgeous wood. Most Model 21 guns are either two trigger/extractor guns, or single trigger/ejector guns. The 30” M/F barrels have factory 3” chambers, 100% fine rust blue, mirror bores, are tight on hinge and breech face like a new gun with the top lever well right of center. The action and mechanics are in excellent working order with perfect screws, well-timed ejectors, and nice crisp trigger pulls. The wood is exhibition quality walnut with curly figure and profuse fiddleback, fit perfectly to the metal and having perfect checkering and finish. It appears this gun was restored and never carried afield nor shot much at all. It shows as a new Model 21. Weighing 7 ¾ pounds it is a big gun for tough game like waterfowl, pheasants, turkey, or your long-distance volume dove shoots that are coming right up. The stock dimensions are generous and modern, with the wood terminating in a checkered butt. What a great example of John Olin’s finest, looking new and ready for decades of heavy use. See specifications below. We have priced this gun very fairly and there is not a thing that needs to be done to this gun except buying it and taking it to the range or field for some shooting pleasure. Thanks for looking!
