From a mid-west estate sale, a antique 4 gauge market gun with a 42" octagon to round shotgun barrel. The wood stock is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips other than one at the toe of the butt stock (see photos). It has a steel butt plate and engraved steel trigger guard and a German silver nose cap (see photos). The barrel has been fitted with a full length steel under rib with two steel thimbles and a wood ram rod. Two German silver wedge pin excusions and an engraved, back action lock (see photos). The iron metal finish has an aged mottled grey patina (see photos). This smooth bore has a 42" barrel and from what I can see, has a decent bore with a shotgun bead sight at the muzzle. 14" LOP and is 57" over all. The unmarked, lock function perfectly and has a strong hammer spring. At the sale they said this gun had unknown origins (see photos). It is difficult to date the lock or tell the guns manufacture but everything on the gun appears to have been unaltered from the original and is period correct. I am no expert and have no way to authenticate this shotgun therefore I am offering this gun with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations, in any way, return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping. We trade guns. Satisfaction guaranteed(see my feedback). No reserve.
