Bird season is coming fast, the leaves will be turning, the pheasants will be cackling, and the grouse will be flushing. Time for a new Parker for your upland season, but how to choose? There are many available and more than just price should influence your decision. You want a gun that will serve your needs, function properly without costing you more money on repairs, and a gun that looks good and makes you proud. For investment and enjoyment of use, finding Parker guns that have been well cared for throughout their life, lightly used, fully inspected, documented by experts, AND carry a written 90-day mechanical warranty make the most sense for your hard-earned money. Other factors that should be considered are rarity of features, condition, quality of wood, and for a field gun, weight and balance. THIS PARKER WAS BUILT ON THE HIGHLY COVETED ZERO FRAME TRADITIONALLY USED FOR THE PARKER 20GA. GUN. VERY FEW EXIST. Built in 1904 and since then fully restored to new, this is the ultimate upland gun, weighing just 6lbs. (1/2 to ¾ pound less than typical Parker 16ga. guns built on the typical #1 frame), balanced perfectly between the hands, ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL PARTS, retaining 100% of the historically correct restored finishes with VFI rust blue barrels, Turnbull Restorations charcoal blue trigger guard and bone and charcoal action and forend iron, and VFI hand rubbed oil finish on the stocks. This is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, meaning we stripped the action to the smallest part, cleaned all in the Ultrasonic cleaner, scrubbed each part and inspected all for function and integrity, properly lubricated and reassembled. VFI CERTIFIED guns have a 90-day mechanical warranty (a $275 service in our shop). The barrels have tight ribs, mirror shiny bores, factory 2 9/16” chambers (you can shoot 2 ¾” shells in this gun. Ask if you don’t know why…we have a large inventory of RST 2 1/2” shells as well), clear sharp lettering, and fit tight as new on hinge pin and breech face. The action has clear border engraving, crisp trigger pulls, perfect screws, and the top lever is well right of center. The wood-to-metal fit is excellent and there are no cracks. What a great looking gun. The cost of a full, historically correct restoration in today’s world can surpass $4000 and can take well over a year before you get your gun back. This has all been completed already on this Parker. There is nothing left to do but buy the gun, take her to the range to sharpen your skills, and take her to the uplands in this rapidly approaching season. SEE SPECIFICATIONS BELOW. This gun won’t last, so don’t hesitate to buy. Thanks for looking!
