Construction is steel slide assembly including guide rod, sights, hammer, trigger, levers, barrel, internal parts and magazine body, built into a light weight alloy frame, with polymer guide rod, floor plate, and cartridge follower. 3 1/2 inch barrel with ball joint muzzle. 5 groove right hand, 1:18.75 rifling. Sights are matte 3 dot, dovetailed front and rear, and drift adjustable only for windage. Safety lever is ambidextrous and serves as a decocker to safety discontinue a firing session. The .265 hammer is factory bobbed with no spur. The .305 smooth faced trigger pulls at 11 pounds vicinity double action; single action pull is a stiff but crisp two stage 7 pounds. 3914 has a firing pin safety and a magazine safety. Magazine is 8 shot finger rest type factory. Magazine release is reversible for left handed shooters. Grips are factory S&W black polymer straight backstrap type.
