General Specs: Beretta, Year 1972, 20 Gauge, 5lbs. 13oz., Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/4", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 9/16"

The Beretta BL-3 was imported into the States between 1968 and 1976 as a high quality, lightweight alternative to the Browning Superposed. It was known in Europe as the S55 and was the predecessor to Beretta’s most popular and biggest selling over/under guns: the 686, 687 series of guns. As seen on DOGS AND DOUBLES; “The S57 was one of the trio of over-under shotguns that Beretta introduced in 1955. There was S55 (Silver Snipe), the S56 (Golden Snipe), and the S57 (Ruby Snipe). These OUs combined features of Beretta’s expensive, handmade ASEs and sidelock S1s with mass-production techniques.” The BL-3 we show here is likely the best value you can find in a very high-quality Italian over/under. The action is hand engraved, the stocks are hand checkered, the breech area of the barrels are jeweled, the wood has some figure with lots of fiddleback that shows itself as you move the stock in the light…it even has gas vents that channels gas away from the face in case of a pierced primer. This AS NEW Beretta, snV11089 built in 1972, has barely been fired, retaining 99.5% factory blue on the barrels, action, trigger guard, and wood, with only a few light handling/storage marks in the wood finish. This gun weighs an amazing 5lbs. 13oz. with its 28” M/F barrels and full-length buttstock. Balanced just a fraction in front of the hinge area, this gun is fast handling and a joy to carry all day over hill and dale in pursuit of your favorite gamebird. With the 3” factory chambers and reliable single selective trigger, you can even pursue tough late season pheasants in the icy cold cattail marshes. You will rarely see a BL-3 in this high of condition, with this nice of wood for sale, and of course the 20ga. guns always bring a premium over the 12ga. guns…condition, rarity, and desirable features is what creates value in the gun market. We are presenting this Beretta at a very affordable price just in time for some summer practice before the fast approaching upland bird season.
