This listing is for ONE Magazine. Shoppers please be advised, your SKS Rifle may need the wood dressed down, or sanded, or dremeled inside the stock’s magazine well area. Many of the Chinese Rifles imported in the 1990s, like the Jianshe Arsenal specimen showing in some of our photos, have had wood swelling over the past 20 – 30 years, and they never had uniform magazine inlets anyway. Here is the only reliable metal magazine conversion to fit the SKS type 56 Rifle, manufactured throughout the world in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Manufacturer is KCI, Kyungchang Industry Corp., Paju City, Republic of Korea – South Korea. Importer and warrantor is John Masen Company of Grand Prairie, TX, Original Equipment manufacturer and supplier for several brands. Construction is six piece, serrated side, folded steel body with 3 spot welds fore and 2 welds aft. Release ridge and spacer and mount areas are all original parts spot welded into place. Spring, floorplate, and inner plate are all steel; only the cartridge follower is black polymer. Each magazine holds 5 rounds of 7.62 x 39 caliber ammunition. Insertion of the Fifth round is admittedly a chore until the magazine has time to sit loaded for several days. Body finish is PTFE Teflon base coating, semi gloss black. Weight empty is 6 1/2 ounces. These magazines fill a need that their polymer mates just can’t touch. They’re worth owning, even if the owner has to sand or inlet the inside of the rifle’s stock. No CA CO CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY OR RI VT WA civilians.
