From a mid-west estate sale, a antique 12 gauge American made fowler with a 42" round shotgun barrel. The wood stock is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips other than one from the back of the tang to the thumb rest and some wood loss at the top of the lock however the stock is solid as a rock (see photos). It has a ornate scalloped butt plate and steel trigger guard and a German silver entrance thimble (see photos). The barrel has been fitted with a full length steel under rib with two steel thimbles and a steel ram rod. German silver wedge pin excusions and an engraved, back action lock (see photos). The iron metal finish has an aged mottled grey patina (see photos). This smooth bore has a 42" barrel and from what I can see, has a decent bore with a shotgun bead sight at the muzzle and a 14" LOP and is 56" over all. The unmarked, locks function perfectly (including half cock) and has a strong hammer spring. At the sale that said this was a gun made in Ohio but is not maker marked (see photos). It is difficult to date the lock or tell the guns manufacture but everything on the gun appears to have been unaltered from the original and is period correct. I am no expert and have no way to authenticate this shotgun therefore I am offering this gun with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations, in any way, return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping. We trade guns. Satisfaction guaranteed(see my feedback).
I do not recommend firing any weapon util it has been thoroughly inspected by a certified gunsmith.
